With several friends as witnesses, today was another great milestone.

Z28Canuck and Fuelie came along for some rides.....and that's Fuelie's beautiful '65 fuelie in the photos.

We couldn't resist a few shake-out runs. A basic feel for the car was what I was looking for. A few issues have been identified (nothing serious), and I'm looking forward to longer and longer runs. :D

We kept it within the neighbourhood this time and had fun waving to everyone during our cruise-bys. Probably only put on about 2 to 3 miles all together, but it sure was fun.

NOTE to Fuelie -- the shift into 1st and 3rd problem was easy to fix. It was an adjustment on one of the Hurst shifter stop bolts - TADA! The transmission now shifts cleanly from 1st all the way to 5th.

All in all, considering the massive amount of new parts and extreme changes designed into the car, it felt surprisingly tight and nimble.

Next stop is the paint shop, in about a week, to make some relatively minor adjustments......such as the colour of several items painted separately. The headlight buckets, wiper grills, lower rear valance, etc. are all a little darker than the car itself.....but not for much longer.

Does it feel like it has some muscle? Holy crap.......that would be an understatement!!! Slight pressure on the loud pedal in any gear makes the rear end very nervous. :D

Does it handle well with the VB&P Performance Plus Suspension? So far, I'm very impressed, but like I said earlier, we kept it within the neighbourhood today.

Stay tuned -- more to follow in the weeks to come. :bu

Yikees! You guys are in my backyard? Where do you guys meet up?

I'll need to join up with you on a run. I'll bring my Z06!! .

BTW Nice paint jobs. Did you do the paint locally? I need to get that contact.

Next run, let's hookup.

-Bill of Mississauga.:w ZOOOM ZOOOOM!

Man, I know that you have to be chomping at the bit to really get it out on the road and turn it loose!

Regards, John McGraw

Now don't forget to break it in slowly for at least 500 miles.................:L Enjoy!

Bill,

We're east of The Big Smoke. ;) There's very little drive-time left this Fall, however.

As for where 67HEAVEN was painted........see Chapter 21 on www.67HEAVEN.com. Ron bends over backwards to make you happy. :beer
Tell him Bob sent you.

Awesome!! - That has GOT to be a great feeling. Best of luck to you, I know it's been a long haul getting to this point. Be safe.

No disrespect intended towards 67Heaven (it would be like carrying coals to Newcastle to tell you again how good it looks and how many of you know what that last phrase means?) but I've always had 3 all-time favorite Vettes:a 67 427/400 a/c coupe (got it), a 40th Anniv ZR1 (got it) and a 65 F.I Coupe.
Looking at Fuelie's car sure reinforces my dream car list.
Great looking car, Fuelie and if you ever want to sell.....I know, I know;LOL
Both are beauties, eh?

That side-by-side shot of the two noses really emphasizes the differences- how much lower and wider 67 is than Fuelie. None of the other pics shows it up as much as that one!!

Congrats, Bob! I wish I coulda been there!!

-Mac

There might be limited cruising time left in the season but I'm guessing you'll be watching the weather report like a hawk looking for ways to extend it! Enjoy yourself, it's got to be a great feeling to have created such a work of art and a mechanical masterpiece!

No disrespect taken. You're right. Fuelie's car is a beauty. :beer

Wow!! And Wow again!! Now that is some kind of beautiful machine 67Heaven! I think all of Southern Ontario should thank you considering that your Vette is going to be toolin our roads......along with Fuelie's.

And you and your bud Fuelie just proved it I guess.......All Corvettes ARE red!
Enjoy! :cool

I can't stand it! I was hoping today I could cruise, but it rained all day Mississauga way... got some time in yesterday though.

Let's hope we still have some fine drive days ahead. ( I just bought my license sticker...just hoping !!! xxx fingers crossed xxx )

Great news I can just imagine how it felt, those first 500 miles are the hardest.

Congrats

There are many things to like about the new suspension design, Mac.

One of the great selling points to me (and it's only one of the points) is the ability to drop the car until the oilpan is scraping on the pavement. Right now, the front end is about 2-3 inches lower than Fuelie's, and I could drop it another inch. The rear end is about an inch lower, and can come down further as well, but I'm closely watching those massive rear tires to see how close I want to get to the fenders.

You should have been here. :upthumbs

'Heaven,

Glad you got a maiden voyage under your belt before the snow flies, funny you did it today, I put mine away for the year today, of course if we get a couple 80* days I can always get it back out.

Tom

What a comparason of the 2 bodies. Both beautiful cars. One of these days I hope to go around the block in 67 Heaven too. :D
