68-82 SWAY BAR - aftermarket VS. OEM

I need a sway bar for my 79 L-82. The PO took it off and somehow misplaced it. Are there any aftermarket bars I should go with or should I just stick with the original??? Any leads on a sway bar. Thanks!!!

I thought that my PO had removed mine too. I bought all of the original mounting hardware, but not the sway bar yet.

After reading some previous threads, I learned that many C3s did not come with a rear sway bar, unless the Gymkata suspension was ordered as an option.

Check out zip corvettes or Midamerica. I suppose an internet search would yield good results.

I am curious though. Midamerica sells a sway bar with (what looks like) all of the mounting hardware. The hardware looks different from the original hardware.

When you buy the swaybar, let me (and others) know if you needed additional hardware or not.-

They sell Addco sway bars in various sizes for the Corvette. They can either sell you a replacement swaybar, or a complete kit if yours didn't come with a swaybar.

I actually am looking for the front sway bar not the rear. Thats what I need the info on.

You guys want a matched setup. To add rear you need FE-7 ft. bar as well.

What is the width if the Original front sway bar.
