Radiator, inner fender wells, fan shroud, etc. etc --- what is the "factory correct" color for all the black color items in the engine bay?

Is "semi gloss" black correct?

There was a posting on here several years ago where someone mentioned a particular NAPA black paint that was virtually the same color as factory original --- anyone happen to know what color that would be or equivalent other brand??

Any help/ guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

What you need is semi flat.....the only place in the metro Detroit area to sell it is Painters Supply.
Good luck:w

I'm pretty sure that "chassis Black" from almost any of the restoration suppliers would be a very close match.

...Radiator...

The 4 row Harrison radiators were more glossy than a straight flat black. For lack of a better description, they were radiator black.

...inner fender wells...

Semi flat black as part of the black out process.

...fan shroud...

The metal fan shrouds were more glossy than flat; fiberglass shrouds were semi-flat black and, possibly, unpainted raw, gray fiberglass.

The old five ball Krylon semi-flat black is a near perfect match.

Great photo-reference here:

Pricey, but worth the cost of a copy. Pages of underhood and interior photos of original cars.

The 1968-69 NCRS Judging Manual also lists factory finishes.
