What motors used the 6000 Redline factory tach in the 69 Model run?

What were the engine options avail in 69? what should I look for in a 69 Vette to determine a Big Block Car vs a Small Block car. Trying to pick apart one up for grabs for a friend. Thanks, Jim

'69 Engine options (and redline start points, based on the same engines in '67):

L46 350/350hp - 6000
L36 427/390 - 6000
L68 427/400 - 6000
L71 427/435 - 6500
L88 427/430 - 6500

ALL BB cars had:

Bolted caps on diff yokes for U-joints (not U-bolts like SB cars)
Rear stabilizer bar (NEVER used on SB cars)
27.5" wide copper/brass radiator with no expansion tank (SB's used aluminum with expansion tank on manuals or 26"-wide copper/brass with no tank on automatics and all L46's).

Those are the primary clues - there are many other smaller ones.

The 69 427's did come with expansion tanks. Which tank depended on the hp option. BB a/c equiped cars had a brass 20 inch long tank mounted on the passenger side. Non air cars used an alum. tank.
Also look for only one fuel line for a 3x2 equiped 427, all others should have a fuel return line running next to the supply line. This is often overlooked when puting together a bb from a sb, and the return line is left on the car.
