70 corvette anti-theft option problem

Hi, I'm newto this forum and this is my first post. I'm working on my factory install anti-theft alarm on my 70 vette and all the doors and hood switches activate the alarm just like they are suppose to, but if you just close the doors or hood the alarm stops going on and off. It's my understanding that once alarm is activated the only way to turn it off is with the alarm key or battery goes dead. Any ideas why mine will stop by just closing door or hood? Sure would like this to work the correct way. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to CAC. I think the alarm relay has one set of contacts that supply power to the coil once the relay is energized by one of the switches. Not 100% sure. Check the schematic in the Shop Manual.

My shop manual is for 69 corvette and mine is 70, but there is nothing on the wiring diagrams about the the ua6 anti-theft option. So you think that the relay in the jack compartment gets energized and keeps the siren blowing when door or hood are opened instead of stop blaring when door or hood is closed?

Either the relay is bad or you have a bad connection/wire.

You can pull the relay and test it with a 12v battery, some wire and a multimeter.
