Wanting to build up a 700r4 for the vette. Needs to stqnd up to thrashing of 400hp and 430 ft lbs torque. Tight budget. what do I really have to have?

ditch the 700 idea and do a 200 4r, that is the way to go, much more reliable, takes FAR fewer mods to get it reliable, and so is a much cheaper route....lighter weight to boot.....

Wish I knew of it some years ago, ....

You can go to www.700R4.com for some decent reference material on 700R4's and 200R4's...

I thought the only difference in the two transmissions was the 1st gear ratio, and that the 200R4 is a direct bolt-in for the TH350 on the C3's, whereas the 700R4 requires a custom crossmember...

already have the tranny. just need to rip it out of the conversion van.

I believe that you will need to do more than just rebuild the internals of the trans. You'll need to custom bend new fluid lines and get yourself a Throttle Valve ("TV") cable kit to match your carb setup, among other things...

It's not an easy, one-weekend conversion... but it is worth the time and effort.

thanks evolution, forgot all about the lines. Shouldn't be to big a deal. am a pretty good wrench twister and I have all winter for time. the parts fund is gonna take a hell of a hit. plan on building my own crossmember with 2in. square tube . Just need to get this project right so I can go on the Hot Rod Power Tour this next summer.

Need more ideas here guys and gals.
