700R4 Trans

I have noticed that the trans on my 86 when I place it in drive and coastind down a long incline feels like the converter locks up and then immediatley unlocks. This happens several times but is so quick I don't see any change in the tach or spedo. I am generally at between 35 and 40 mph. The trans seems to be OK otherwise except on a normal takeoff from a dead stop if I have it in OD it shifts rapidly into 3rd,it doesn't skip any gears just a rapid upshift. I can takeoff in drive and it doesn't do this. I have checked the throttle cable adjustment. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance for any help Charlie.:confused
