This weekend we should see much more progress. In fact, I hope to get the black paint on the jams by Sunday afternoon and start working on my "other" project :cool

This week has been nuts and I missed two prime evenings to wetsand/block on the car.

It is really starting to look slick.

Excellent work Chris. It is going to be awesome, as usual.

Chris,
Do you find that the flares don't always match the contours of the body perfectly when you first hold them up to the car? In other words, do they flex to follow the body contours as you rivet them in place? This is how my flares are, and I don't want to see them crack as they are put in place.

Thanks!

They fit terrible at first.

No crack problems so far and mine have been on for a while now. Dave's look great on the 71.

Did you check out his site at www.tropiczoneracing.com and click on the race car, then to the "street vette" tab to the left to see all the pics? We took some pretty good ones of it in progress.

You really need two sets of hands to press/form them into place, and run zip screws through the rivet tabs to hold them there. You will see they will start to contour better and better as you go.

Great, that makes me feel much better. They were too expensive to have them crack on me. What do you mean by "zip screws"?

I did check out the site, I have been following the progress and the car looks sweet, even with the "rough" paint.

I've been looking for the new issue of Vette, it hasn't hit the stands around here yet, I'm very excited to see your article.
