Police are trying to solve the arson of a '73 Corvette collector's car stolen from Edmonton and found burning in Sturgeon County.

The car was found about 5 a.m. Dec. 6, near Highway 2 and Secondary Highway 651 in Sturgeon County.

The 1973 Corvette – a rare mint condition collector's car – was reported stolen from Edmonton the same day.

Morinville Mounties are calling for public assistance to solve the crimes and can be reached at 780-939-4550, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

With todays economy I would start by checking out the owners financials and see if he had more need for the money than the car.

With the price of collectables coming down some have old valuations and insurance policies that make it beneficial to loose the car.
