I'm replacing my exhaust pipes and mufflers and want to meet OEM material and dimensional specifications; basically NCRS criteria. I know there are some big companies out there and some are sponsors of this site but I can't find two of them to agree. So I'm looking for referrals from those of you with positive experiences from NCRS judging.

I intend to replace the system myself so I just need the parts.

Thanks for your time.

As a side note: I will be using the original Cat. converter because its in good condition.

I'd look at the Year One catalog. They have exhaust kits for all years. In my experience, if it isn't 100% correct, Year One won't carry it. Ecklers, Corvette Central, etc, are all a crapshoot at best, IMHO. Year One specializes in concours correct restorations. The others have parts that are designed to simply get you on the road. Not to say they don't have good parts too, but if it's not 100% correct, Year One won't touch it. Some of the aftermarket body panels they sell for other cars (metal), they grade to let you know if the quality is less than factory. They do this on quarter panels, and other parts that restorers don't have a choice but replace, but at least they tell you if the part is of less than factory quality.

I got an email from Year One's tech support and they said they have a system that will fit my car but it isn't reproduction and would never meet the NCRS judging criteria. However, they do offer the originally shaped round mufflers so I'll order them.

I spoke to an NCRS judge and he said there aren't many systems out there that are original for 75's. Seems that catalytic converter was available for 75 only. He said most aftermarket systems won't meet specs because they are mandrel bent so he suggested I go to local muffler shop and have one made. The main advantage here would be to save shipping costs.

Thanks for your help and I hope this information will be useful to others.
