well I'm back, I had to put the project on hold for a year or so but it is progressing quite well now. The last major thing on the to do list was the first one encountered "no brakes".

everything has been bleed by several shops and everything is new except the proportioning valve.

In testing the brake system and plugging the line to the rear brakes down stream from the valve I get resistance in the pedal. Doing the same to the front brakes and hooking the rears back up there is no brake.

The question is could it be the valve that has been the problem all along? Short of replacing it is there a possiblity that is simply plugged?

She is so close to the road I can taste it.

Thanx

Ed,
i would tend to think that the proportioning valve would give resistence if it were plugged. did you bleed both inner and outter bleeds on each caliper?? how are you pumping the brake pedal and what type of fluid are you using?? silicone brake fluid will trap a massive amount of air if you pump the pedal. it is suggested that you gravity or better yet suction bleed the system with silicone. if not, push and release the pedal very slowly. is your master cylinder bleed right and pumping good?? i have seen new cylinders that were not bleed prior to installation that ripped one or both seals and ruined the pressure building potential. C3's are bad for holding air in the brake system, it took a lot of bleeding to get mine right, best of luck getting her fixed. Brian

Brian:
That makes sense that if it were plugged there would be resistance. I have blead them 4 times three shops have blead them w/o any results. I am using DOT3 fluid and have pumped them slow. both the front and rear pass alot of fluid on every pump. I have preasure, gravity and the one man system blead them.
I am dazed and confused on this one.

I will get some plugs and plug the master cylender to test it properly.

Any other advice out there?

Ed
