I broke out my car for the first time this year, and I noticed when I came home and was cleaning the carb, that the rear 2 barrels choke/butterfly were not open. The front two were. This is only the third time I have driven this car, and want to know if this is normal (the car seems to run fine) or if some thing is wrong. It ia a 1976 L-82 all stock w/ AC. Any insight would be appreciated.

Quad

There is an internal linkage in the quad that only opens when the pedal is pushed about half way.

OMG yours looks exactly like mine I went with an edelbrock to get rid of the quad lag.

The Edelbrock is nothing more than a Qjet clone. What are you going to do when that goes out of adjustment like your original? :L

Qjets are actually REALLy good carbs. Typically the choke linkage etc will prevent the secondary throttle plates (butterflies) from opening. If you look on the passenger side of the carb down near the "pivot" point of the lower butterflies you'll be able to see the "interferance" from the choke. You can hold the choke stuff out of the way and open the throttle (engine off) to see the secondaries open.
