Hello. Have a 76 that has just low wiper speed only...sometimes they stop by themselves. I think my wiper motor is nearly shot. Any tests I can do to be sure?

Thanks,Pete

Welcome to the forum. Might take a meter and check to see that you are getting 12V at the wiper motor and check grounds and connectors. Also may have to check the switch itself.

Thanks....I'll check it all out...Do you happen to know where wiper motor is grounded to in engine compartment?

On the wiper motor there is a 3 prong connector.
The top wire ( blue or green ) is a ground to make the wipers run on low.
The center wire ( yellow ) is HOT with the key on.
The bottom wire is a ground ( black ) makes the wipers run on high.
There is a seperate black ground wire that should connect to a bolt on the bellhousing, down by the starter.
The switch inside the car most also be grounded, you can run a wire from the one of the small bolts that hold the switch in place to a good ground.
PG.
