'78 Anniversary Edition for sale, but too much money

Just remember, you get what you pay for!! I got mine back in June.. All original 26,000 mile 78 SA, L82, 4 speed with all the options. It still had the original spark plugs and air filter!! I paid $17,000.. I just about only took the delivery and drove it to an NCRS event and took "Topflight"!!

If you want a vette that you don't have to put much money into, your NOT going to get that vette for under $10k. If the car needs paint, that’s $4 to $5k alone!! So, up front it may seem like too much money but, if all it needs is just some cleanup and the paint is great, all the mechanical stuff is in good working order, all the breaks are good and everything works! It's worth the extra money...

If you don't mind putting money into the car and MANY man hours then go for the lower priced Vettes. There are deals out there however, in my eyes if you spend under $10k for the car, expect to put at least half again into it.

Just my two experienced cents

You bet, Nick. The deals are out there, but for a car like yours, it's worth the $$. I told a young friend of mine that some Vettes are in such poor shape that if they were free it still would be too much money.

SLICKMAN, I absolutely agree with you and what you say. And, my what a beautiful Vette you have! :D But, I was looking for a little more than an L48. I was looking for something like what you've got under the hood, an L82.

Not even that, though. Of course, I know that what I put it, I will get back out. And I understand that logic. What I'm going to do is just save my pretty penny's and then in a summer or two (hopefully not more than three) I'll be able to shell out and get what I can, with a $1k held back for immediate and necessary repairs.

That's pretty much my plan of action. And I know that if I buy a Vette (fairly priced) to about $6 - $7 - $8k I know that it won't be the quality of yours or many other beautiful cherry Vettes. And, I'm willing to put money (with time) and a lot of hours into her. After all, I really can't wait until I get my hands dirty in a C3 Shark. ;)

I'm going to be very patient with this plan, and I've pretty much given up on this '78 that we went to see, because he's not willing to bring the price below $13k.

It's funny, though. My father has really fallen in love with this Vette. :D Let me give you a little background on this whole thing...

My father has always had an appreciate for tough cars, and especially of course Vettes. He loves them. But, since I've gotten into them and reading and learning, I think his interest level has also be raised a notch to actually looking to buy. Then, we started looking for a Vette. Maybe something like a joint ownership.

My father's always been intent on getting a C4, but I've always be a C3 guy. ;) I think he might in the near future buy a C4 as his Vette. And then, as I have previously said, I'll save up and buy a C3 Shark.

I think that'll be the plan and how things go as it looks right now.

Thanks again, everybody! :D
