78 pace car project

I would like to hear some of your opinions I found a ragged 78 pace car need quite a bit of work however Im not planning to keep it original I want to turn it into a convertible like I did my 82 I know this will hurt the value pretty bad but I think none the less it would be a pretty cool car I want to do some of the stuff I did to my 82 such as newer seats stuff like that however the car will be painted original black/silver and probably a black soft top

If the car is just laying there rotting away, I say do what you want. I'm so tired of seeing old cars rot because the owner is waiting for Bill Gates to offer him $1 million or the phrase "I'll get her runnin' someday!" I figure if someone can cut up a 365 GTB/4 Ferrari, then you should not have any reservations about tackling a Pace Car.
