78 tank sticker/body id plate/rear trans seal

hey everybody,

should my 78 have a tank sticker like the older vettes?

and where can i find the body identification plate? the packet I got from chevrolet says shroud?

i found a tag close to the lower left hand corner of the winshield, but it doesn't exactle look like the picture of the plate in the paperwork.

how hard is the rear main seal to replace on the trans, going to have to do this soon to stop the trans from "bleeding"

were l 82 engines originally painted black. I know I have an l 82 car, but the engine pad number and code doesn't match it says
MHL or I and 123 5 or 6 8. Is this another motor?

any help appreciated.
