79 with 1,000 miles

I see reminants of a repaint on the photo of the right reat tire, or would that be standard 79' factory over spray?

:L:L:L Yeah, and a 30 YO 1,000 mile car in that condition don't usually have evidence of rusty water running from under the dash and down the right kick panel either!~!! :thumb

I actually can believe the mileage. No one said t-tops and windshield weatherstrips never leaked from the factory! :rotfl

The 3.5 liter engine probably gets fantastic fuel mileage. I would buy it for that fact alone! ;LOL

SAVE THE :w

It's very possibly the reflection from one of the interior lights located just right above the kick panel.

did the L-48(blue valve covers & intake) use the dual snorkel air cleaner in '79? i don't think so.:beer

The base engine for my '78 L48 was rated @185 HP and looks identical to the '79 with the exception of the dual snorkles. All 1979 L48 base engines were rated @195 HP which leads me to believe those engines also came with the dual snorkles--since the dual snorkle added 10 more HP.

That's been a 'no sale' twice on ebay so far.
The lack of options and the uncomfortable non tilt wheel would be deal breakers for me!

Is that the correct steering wheel on the car?I thought the "Vega"wheel was only on 76's.Or is that the standard non-tilt steering wheel?

Could be original. I know the Vega wheel carried over to the '77 models with the standard column, but I'm not sure it continued through 78 and 79.

:)

Four spoke steering wheel was standard when you didn't get the tilt/tele steering column right? Either way, it just looks wrong.....lol. But it is a nice find for somebody. Not sure about the price though...

That steering wheel... yeah it's pretty cheesy.

I was disappointed to find that steering wheel in my '72 Camaro when I bought it. It turns out that it was an option back then (gross). The '70 Camaro I had in high school did not have that wheel. Back in 1980, I helped my friend put a 350 V8 in a Vega way back then, and I do remember that ugly steering wheel.

16K and the reserve was not met so bidding has ended.

According to the Corvette Black Book the L-48 DID come from the factory with the dual snorkel air intake.
