Hello,
I just bought my first Corvette. The one I've wanted all my life. A 1980 with the L82. Even though Ive dreamed of owning one for a long time, I really know nothing about them. This Vette has no rear speakers or grills. I would like to install some rear speakers, but I don't even know where they should go. Can anyone give me some advice on this. Thanks, GJL

1st welcome to CAC!!!!:welcome

the rear speakers go in each of the rear corners in the back....

several things to considering purchasing if you plan on keeping you vette

you should get an assembly instruction manual as well as a service manual for you '80..
these are the bibles for when they were built and how to repair our vettes
you can pick them up at any of the corvette vendors.

I replaced the factory speakers with aftermarket speakers and slightly modified, commercially available speaker enclosures.

The 1980 assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows the factory installation for the optional rear speakers and lists original part numbers if you want to go the stock route.

Congrats on the L-82. 1980 was the last year for an optional engine in a Corvette until 1990.

Be sure to pop into the New Member Introduction forum and say hello!

Do you plan on keeping your car 100% factory stock or are you going to modify it in a way that suits what you want? Answering this question will help you and a lot of others here in determining the kinds of answers that you'll get. :)

Speakers:

For now I am going to try and keep it as original looking as possible. Maybe one day I'll do something else.:cool

Thanks,

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but this is what I did for my rear speakers. It was really easy to do, and they sound great of course.
