Hello everyone,

I have copied this thread from the L81 forum to the general because the reply's were not to high over there or the question is just to difficult :), hope the response here is better...

I have a little question again, my rear suspention was compleetly redone (new rubbers, one new spindle etc etc.) But the rubber that was attached to the rear spring was not worth saving so we needed a new one....
Here in Holland they are not for sale (only with an entire new spring), i can't also find it in the regular cataloges (zip, mid etc).
At this moment we have put some other rubber to replace the original but we don't know if it's correct.
We think to original rubber goes compleetly around the spring (in the middle) and now we only have it at the bottom and the top.
Does somebody here know if it's compleetly around or just at the bottom and the top?
And are the rubber parts available apart for the spring somewhere.. And the last question how is it attached? With glue or with hars (don't know if hars is english?.. attached vulcanicly...)
I hope somebody here know's it, because now it's not perfect..

And a pic:

Greetings Peter.

Sorry guys,

Just call me stupid but i've searched the Ecklers and Corvette America website's (and the Ecklers catalog) but didn't find the strips... :(
Anyone here a link the the strips or a page number in the Ecklers catalog? Maybe i just looked over them?...

Greetings Peter.

There are no rubber strips on the spring.
On the spring itself where it mounts on top there should be a small block on top, just long enough to fit the mating part.
It looks like it came off and someone put rubber on both sides.
It was probbly removed to lower the car.
There should be no rubber on the bottom side.
I do not think that you need any rubber on the spring, since looking on the site they show springs without it.

My mistake thought you were talking about a steel leaf spring and the pieces that go inbetween the leafs .have never seen just the rubber block for a composit spring.
1Bad80 has a great link there maby they could just sell you the rubber if you e-mail them

If you look at the pictures on his post its a fiberglass and has NO rubber pieces as in the pic, it looks like someone put some astro turf between the mounting points. Most aftermarket springs don't have them because you can adjust the ride height without them.
Its just a centering block, and on my new spring I got with my upgrade Performance Plus package it was not on the spring, or on any in the catalog. Plus I put on the offset trailing arms.
The ride improved like they said it would.
