82-83 rearend

I have an 82/83 aluminum rearend in my 1974 454 roadster.Does anyone know how strong this rearend is? I have concerns about really trying to launch this car!

The '80-'82 (so, YOU'RE the guy who got the '83?) has a Dana44 rear-end carrier/ring & pinion assembly, the weakest rear of ANY C3 (the carrier is aluminum?), I'm told. By the way, I found a supplier today of ring & pinions for the Dana44, brand-new U.S./Precision Gear pieces, for $125.00 Yankee. If anybody wants needs gears for their '80-'82 C3, gimme an E-mail, or post here.....
