The front end has been completely rebuilt and the steering valve and cylinder were replaced due to leakage. What to look for next??

The steering is power assist so it will be "snug" compared to the full power steering of the cars of the era. The steering boxes are the same for both manual and power steering. With power you have the valve, pump, cylinder and different pitman arm & center link. You should have little play in the steering driving straight down the road, if you notice a lot of play the box probably needs attention. Also check the rag joint, there should be no lost motion in the rag.

Thanks, My car has maybe 1/4 inch of steering wheel travel but tracks absolutely straight on open road at 75mph. Just was not familiar with the feel but it handles very well.
Your advice on the steering valve was spot on>>>:thumb
