Helping out a neighbor, so I'm not a corvette expert. This 82 cranks but I don't see any gas entering the engine. I understand from reading there may be a few different culprits here. I'm hoping someone can walk me through a step by step as I'm not sure where to start (oil pressure switch, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, fuses, etc)

thanks..

A couple of "quick" checks...

When the ignition is turned on (after being off for at least 30 seconds or so), listen for the fuel pump to turn on for a couple of seconds. If it is very quiet where the car is, you should clearly be able to hear the fuel pump run. It will only run for a couple of seconds, then it will shut off (with ONLY ignition turned on)

If that seems ok...check for spark. If the DRP (Distributor Reference Pulse) is not making it to the ECM, it won't fire the injectors...and of course you won't get a spark at the plugs either.

You can always do a quick check of the injector fuses (labeled INJ1 and INJ2). The fuse panel is located at the end of the dash on the passenger's side.

If I don't hear the pump running with the key "on" what does that mean?

thanks

Could mean any number of things....blown fuse, bad relay, ECM problem, dead pump...yada yada. If it does not run then at least you have a place to start troubleshooting.

Another quick check is to try some starting spray in the air intake, if engine tries to start, then the problem may be strictly a lack of fuel, bad pump, dirty inline filter, clogged fuel lines, etc.
