Hey all

My '84 (93k) when cold feels like it wants to backfire during acceleration. Once the car warms up, there is no problem. It's almost the feeling you would get when you have a plug wire reversed, but I've double checked all the wires. I'm sort of at a loss.

Plugs, wires, cap and rotor are all about a year old.

Any thoughts?

Your pal,

Jason

probably not part of your problem but then again.;shrug.. have you replaced the stock fuel pump on yoru 84 with an 85 pump.... i can not begin to tell you the changes that made in both my cars and as far as i am concerned it is the first thing any crossfire owner should do when he buys one.

I'm worried that it may be something valve related? Maybe I have a rocker too tight or something? I replaced my 1.5s with 1.6rrs. Car has more power, but about 3 gremlins that now haunt me. This funny 'is a wire crossed' when cold idle, and a ticking lifter. I might just put the 1.5s back on and see if everything goes away! ha

I'm not 84, but I feel like that sometimes too!
