I have to say that I disagree about whether an '82 or an '84 shows better. For my money, the earlier C3's were a lot nicer looking than the later models, and the 84 and 85 Vettes are much nicer than the 86 and up with the stupid third light tacked on like a wart.
When I take my car to car shows, it is frequently the only 84 there. C2s and C3s are much more common. I know there were fewer made, but a lot of people don't take their 84s to shows.
Buy the 84, drive it, enjoy it, and don't look back (unless it is to see a Ford you just passed).

i love my car! and even tho it is bright red it seems to draw less attention than the c3 did from the police

The police are idiots anyway where I live. I was pulled over in my pickup for no reason and they looked all over it to find something to give me a ticket for. And what do you know I got a ticket because my sticker on my license plate wasn't visible enough. They spent an hour looking and running my liciense and insurance. I didn't think the economy was that bad. Not a big fan of the police.

i was a cop for a long time... and on top of many reasons one of the biggest reasons i left was i couldnt stand the way my fellow officers were treating people... and the way i had even been treated when i was pulled over by a certain nys trooper...... even now one of my former partners and soon to become a former friend is harassing my customers at my bar... he sits blocking my parking lot with his patrol car.... people dont want to pull in and sometimes cant even get in... i pulled up to him the other day... basically to make talk to him seeing how i havent seen him in quite a while.... (now mind you i have heard that he is on the verge of losing his house to the bank... no ones fault but his own because he is living well beyond his means like most cops do... i know i did also) he made a comment about my buying a new hummer, he made a comment about my vette, he made a comment how he doesnt see me at the bar doing many hours but he has to work 2 jobs and all the over time he can just to put gas in his truck and his wife had to quit school to get a 2nd job ..... i paused for a second... he and i have always been very very good friends.... best friends i would say... i looked at him and i told him he sounded like a jealous little kid and asked if that was why he was blocking my parking lot.. so i wasnt making as much money! and i said well it didnt work... last month i grossed your base salary... and paid out in bills your wifes.... he wasnt happy... and we exchanged several words..... he knows i am not afraid to call the police to my bar, i tell them all the time please stop in take a walk through on a busy night... the state police and several other members of the agency he now works for stop in all the time asking if i have seen this guy or that guy... or even after work to have a cocktail.. but not him.... i think this friendship is over.. and i dont care

rant over.... sorry about that!

Its too bad that some people, cops included, feel that they are owed something by society and in their position of authority they feels allows them to harass other people who may be in better circumstances...AND they get away with it.:madI did some DOD law enforcement for awhile,& observed 1st hand how some of my peers let the power of authority go directly to their head...thinking the law applies to their 'victims' & not to them:eyerole

Is it normal for the police force to arrest criminals that steal stuff and hold the stuff(jewlery, cars, seadoo's, etc) in a warehouse and let the insurance companies pay out to the stores for the stolen stuff. And then the police force has a secret auction amoung themselves and they buy the stuff and then haul it to another province or state and sell it? Because that is what some cops do in Canada. Why don't they have an auction open to the public?

i cant speak for canadian law enforcement..... i can say property is held in most cases until the case is disposed of.... some items are released early with approval from the da's office... the only items i know of that are auctioned off would be items that were seized such as cars...
