84 Wiper Motor Problem

I am the new owner of my first Corvette, a 1984 C4, which I purchased in need of some repairs. I'm having a problem with the windshield wipers functioning properly. They turn on okay but won't turn back off unless you turn the key completely to the "off" position. They also won't go into delay mode only low & high speeds. My local Corvette parts supplier suggested the problem was in the switch in the door. I changed the switch and still have the same problem. Is the problem in the motor itself?

Any suggestions???
