85 Gas Leak....

Started her today. First time in about a month. Smelled a gas odor and assumed it was the exhaust. After driving abiut 6 miles and smelling the gas stronger, I stopped and opened the hood to investigate. It appeared there was gas leaking from the right side towards the rear of the engine. Not sure where its coming from. Any ideas?

Your description sounds like it could be from the fuel filter which is on the right side under the car just behind the engine compartment. I see this thread is kind of old. What did you find out?

Hi and thanks for the reply. It is kind of strange. The problem happened right after a cold spell of temps below freezing. The car is garaged so Im not sure the temp had anything to do with it, but it was a thought. I started her last weekend and drove her about 10 miles. No repeat of the problem..... The car ran great and no gas smell. Not sure if maybe a fuel injector was leaking or what. Ill be keeping a close eye it it.
