85 heads question

I brought my 85 heads to the machine shot and the shop indicated that the 85 heads had problems cracking. The crack would be between the intake and exhaust values. Has anyone heard of this? They said they would do a leak test, this would indicate if they are cracked. If it passes I will go for the value job. I wanted to keep the car stock, but if it fails I will go with some after market heads. It is hard to believe that cast iron heads will crack. The other sign of a cracked head is water in your oil.

Gray 85 you need to move this post to the C-4 technical discussion, but to answer your question I have never heard of the C.I. heads cracking. Thats a good pitch to sell to the old lady if you want to buy a new set of AFR heads or TPIS heads. Good luck with your car. 84 CF 91 ZR-1
