My horn does not work. I need someone to tell me where on the vette the horn relay is located. Also, should I disconnect the negative post on the battery before I put new relay on? One more thing. Is there an inline fuse for the horn? If so, do you know where it may be located?
How is everything going down there in butler. After reading your post, something really stuck out. You had an 87 while your brother had an 86. Go figure I have an 86 and my brother has an 87. One of those weird situations.
Welcome to . I dont really have an answer for your question. I guess I will have to read the books. I am sure somebody like cliff will come along and provide all the necessary info.
Hi Craig . Things are fine here in our area . My brother and I are going to hook up with Tom Bryant today at the big ACD auction and look at alot more Vettes and muscle cars . C'mon over ! Cliff
The fuse (actually a circuit breaker) is in the fuse block on the right side of the dash, (door must be opened to access it).
The relay is behind the Driver Information Center.
Check the horns themselves also. Grounding wires must be well seated. If any corrosion has formed, you'll not complete the circuit, hence the horns won't work.
I've had that problem on two or three other early and mid 80s GM products.
If you here a click when you push on the horn the horns need to be oiled the relay is good water in the horn is normal for vette .just a relay no fusses.
the acc fuse operates the cig lighter, lights inside hatch, and so on.
