Is there a shop that rebuilds the Climate controller? I went to purchase one and all I could find was rebuilt ones. If that is the case I would rather have mine gone over and keep the original repaired one in the car after it is fixed.

The problem I am having is that the blower fan cuts out intermittantly. Some days it works others it doesnt. I checked voltage and the fan is not recieveing voltage when this happens. I previously posted and there is no relay involved so it looks like this is the culprit.

Have you tried cleaning the control head contacts? About once a year my system gets flakey--some buttons won't work, fan speed won't change--and cleaning the contacts cures all its woes. Might be worth a try since it has to come out anyway.

Actually I havent even pulled it out. The problem started about 2 months ago, the fan just stopped intermittantly. I have only driven the car about a dozen times this year. So about 4 drives ago. I did check the voltage at the fan thats where I found the problem. I am still debating what to do though. I want to pick up a Helm's manual first and look over the wiring schematics myself. As for the contacts what exactly are you talking about? Inside or at the rear wiring connector?

The terminals that attach directly to the control head. I'm not familiar with the '86 and my '96 may be different. I have had to pull the controller two or three time and clean the terminals with electronics cleaner.

From what I understand the 96 is definately different. My 91 would match yours though.
