The auction makes mention of the historic Barrett-Jackson auction to affirm the prices & values these rockets will see in the future
Here is an overview of the car:

What we have here is an original 1987 Callaway Twin turbo Corvette. This car is number 30 of approximately 180 produced that year. The Callaway option was a factory option number B2K. This is not a tuner car! This is a one owner car in pristine condition. This car has a very interesting history having been used a development car for Goodyear. Goodyear, working with Callaway used this car to develop their "S" versions of the original Eagle tires. The development work consisted only of road testing not track testing. This car was never abused!! It has been babied it's entire life. This car also has one of the last original Protofab fiberglass body kits. These kits were modeled after the race cars that ran in the IMSA series in the 80's. These kits were only available from Chevrolet dealers in 1987-1988. Similiar kits were later available in urethane from the aftermarket. This car also has an original set of Centerline forged aluminum wheels with brand new Goodyear Z-rated tires.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a very special Corvette. A Callway Corvette is not nearly as well known as a ZR-1, nor as plentiful. From 1987 thru 1991, only 525 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes were produced. These numbers are similiar to the L88 big block cars of the 60's. This car will most likely appreciate in value over the next 10 to 20 years, beacuse of the rarity . Four Callway Corvettes recently sold at Barrett-Jackson for nearly a million dollars combined. "
