87 Muffler Advice

I need to replace my mufflers. While I'm under the car I'm going to remove the pre-cats and the cat. I would like recomendations for mufflers that would sound good while cruising and at WOT loud and great.

Since the cats will be eliminated strait pipe would not be a good idea. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the stock 2.25" pipes.

I have straight pipes and love em . So does Mad-Mic. To see what it sounds like just leave the mufflers off, or just leave it open where the cat would be and see if you like it. Keep in mind thought he elims will get the sound outside of the car, so it wont resonate as bad.

I think I have a similar set up you're looking at doing. removed the pre-cats and the big cat. went with true duals back to magnaflows. sounds good at idle. wot is mean sounding. nice grumble!

it's not that bad especially inside the cockpit until you get up to 3k in rpm then she sounds MEAN!!!

This is a 3" system, dumping a somewhat radical SBC, through a stock CAT and Flowmasters.
I hope you have good speakers...

I am runnign TPIS LT's with a test pipe, and the factory exhaust. In this clip though I only have it hooked up through the Y pipe, off the headers.
