I had my windows tinted in the summer. Now one of them has a small rip in it... I took the driver's door panel off to see a metal bar/bracket that catches the window on the way down.. Its moved as far back as possible but still catches...

Any suggestions?? For now, I covered the metal in duct tape to keep sharp edges off the window..

Is the glass itself adjusted correctly?? Does it sit right when all the way up?? Sometimes the glass adjustment nuts loosen and the glass slips down, not allowing it to ride up and down where it should.....there are two metal adjusment brackets on top of the panel which correct for the glass to go in or out...if one or both are loose the window will ride up or down wrong.....some of the metal frame work the glass rides on can actually be bent in order to have the window work correctly...had to do that on mine when I replace the glass..(it was smashed to smitheriens for my radar detector)...calls for a complete teardown of the door...not too hard but another PIA.......
