92 Corvette Wiper Issues

I have a 1992 Corvette, When I turn my wipers to the on position they function properly. When I turn them to the off position they remain running unless I turn the vehicle off and restart, they then park themselves. I replaced the park switch this morning hoping that would resolve the issue but the problem still persists, please help.
