93 - C4 - ABS/ASR Code

It seems that if it isn't one thing, it's another.

The ABS/ASR is putting out a Code 75. The service manual says its a "Lateral
Accelerometer Wiring Malfunction". Whoopee.

No other codes are present in any other module. The code came up as a History code; I performed the code reset procedure, but it popped up again after I started the car.

This is an LT1 six-speed.

Three questions:

1) has anyone ever had this code and solved the problem, or know what it could be?

2) the diagnostic indicates the need for a Tech 1. I do not have a Tech 1 - is there any other way to check this out?

3) IMPORTANT - can the car be driven with this code present until its fixed?

Strange codes

There have been several threads about strange codes which resulted from collision sensors poor grounding. They recommeded disconnecting the battery for several minutes (to make sure the air bags don't pop), then cleaning the grounds for the collision sensors.

A different possibility,
I had a bad ABS sensor wire recently (on a 96 with OBD II) that set an ABS code that wouldn't go away. Fixed the abraided wire to the RF wheel sensor and still got the 'ABS' light. Went to Jerry's Auto in Rising Sun and he reset the code with his Tech II scanner. Light went out immediately but had to drive it several miles befor the ABS started working.

The car was ok to drive in this condition but the ABS didn't funtion.

The acc is located under the radio at the front of the dash if anyone worked on the radio they disconected it and did not hook it back up It happened to me.
