Here lately, hot or cold, each start takes between 5 to 10 seconds before it
putters slowly & then the puttering increases in speed — then starts to a
normal idle speed. It runs perfectly — NO lose of POWER or any other
problems. Seems to get ample FUEL after start, but starving for FUEL before
it starts. ANY SUGGESTIONS or IDEAS would be greatly appreciated.
THANKYOU ALL.:)

Check the fuel pressure before start, running and after shutdown.

The fuel pressure may or may not be up on cold start but running it ought to be around 40 PSI or higher. Aftershut down, the pressure ought to stay up for a long time. If it bleeds off quickly, something is leaking.

A leaking injector or an open check valve can cause some of this.

What apparatus do I use to check fuel pressure? Also, where is the best place
to check the fuel pressure and the location of the CHECK VALVE? THANKS.

Fuel pressure gauge attaches to the fuel rail. It looks like a valve stem on a tire sort of :). The gauge screws onto the valve.

have a rag handy as a little gas will drip out and the gauge will have to be purged to get a proper reading. The gauge is about 20 bucks at a parts store.

Hope this helps :thumb
