I know rattles, creaks, and growns are nothing new to the C4 forum. I've tracked down many of the sources, but the drivers side has it's challenges. The door panel has been off several times, and I plan to go back in with parts replacement and window adjustments in mind - armed with more knowledge from the forum postings. Found a really good rattle source - the cruise control module located above the battery. The mounting brackets along with the plastic cover really created a lot of vibration noise. Fixed the problem with a computer wrist rest pad which is 3/4 thick closed cell foam. Even found it in black. Cut a 3" block of this foam to wedge between the battery top and the control unit. Likewise another piece of the pad fit the top. While I was in there, another piece reduced the vibration of the PCM on the engine side of the holders. Now things are quieter, even when I close the door. All is well.
