95 LT1 coil or optispark II issue ?

1995 corvette, coupe, LT1 > 150,000 miles
Recently had radiator, hoses, water pump, optispark, plugs, wires replaced and what was needed to repair the blown head gasket.
After approx. 1,500 miles with new work, the engine will die suddenly when under a moderate to heavy load. Will start again and idle, but upon acceleration you lose spark to the engine.
Pull ODBI codes and see 16: low resolution pulse from Optispark.
Can't recreate failure in the shop, since it occurs ( or is noticed) when under a load.
Could this be a heat related problem with the coil ? I prefer to not replace the Opti for a second time....

If its sending Opti related codes and its new, find the reciept and test it the ol fashion way....return as defective and get a new one!

as long as there is not any obvious damage to the opti, shoul'nt be a problem to return. IT IS a huge problem having to buy another...:ugh

Check the wiring connector on top of the opti
