Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the oilpan from underneath. It looks like there is clearance, but from working on other engines I know that the oil pickup/strainer sometimes won't let you pull it down.
I'd like to change my rear main seal.

Got this out of the "95" manual..

Remove or disconnect;;;

1. Battery negative cable.
2. Raise & suitably support vehicle.
3.Drain engine oil.
4. Oil level sensor connector.
5. Oil level sensor assembly.
6. Oil filter assembly.
7. Oil filter adapter bplts/screws & adapter assembly.
8. Starter motor assembly.
9.Left catalytic converter.
10. Flywheel cover plate.
11. Knock sensoe shield nuts & shield.
12.Oil pan bolts screws etc.
13. Oil pan assembly.

Can't find anything specific as to your question?:confused

I just did mine without having to remove the catalytic converter. Everything else had to come out though, except for the flywheel cover which had to have its bolts removed. Make sure you rotate your No. 1 piston to TDC.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I'm not sure I'm ready to crawl under there again for awhile. I just got thru taking a trans. fluid bath...I should have a catch pan 4' x 4' :D :D
