I'm a new member and would like to say hello first. I find the Forum and technical discussion very interesting. Now, on to the vette!
Recently I've had a high Temp indication located on the Temperature Coolant Gauge. With visual inspection of engine compartment no loose wiring or relay problem could be found. Started engine and turned on A/C, both cooling fans came on. Decided to have car analyzed by local Corvette repair shop.
They found indication different between Analog gauge and Digital readout from Driver information Center. ECM was communicating correct temp and starting cooling fans at the correct setting. Decided to replace ECM Temp Sensor and Coolant Temp Sensor. This corrected high temp indication. (Also corrected small voltage drain on my battery.)
In my business we monitor over 10,000 points or alarms. The first action we take when an alarm activates is to verify the indication is correct before taking further action with the equipment. Hopes this helps.
