96 LT1 Auto or LT4 6 spd

I sold my 92 and lookin to buy a 96 collectors edition. I really want the collectors edition and the LT4 but they only come with the manual. Any suggestions why one or the other. Besides the obvious.

I have owned only one Corvette - a 96 LT4. 6 Shooter described it well - Awesome Performance.

...you could also get the LT1/Automatic combo with the 'optional performance axle' ratio.

It was a decision by GM for the 1996 model year to marry the LT1s with auto transmissions and the LT4s with manual transmissions. :W

LT4, all the way!!! Personal preferences aside, from strictly a future potential value standpoint, the LT4 CE is probably a better investment (at least I hope so!) than the LT1 CE. From a performance standpoint, I prefer a manual over an automatic. The LT4 also has more HP. With prices depressed right now, I don't think the LT4 CE would cost you that much more. Go for the LT4!
