After all the talk about the 81 and 88 Corvettes I finally drove off with the 96 LT4. When I first heard about it I thought it was a GS , but after reading all your posts I understood only the drive train was GS. Still, it seems to be a good, strong, car. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of rattles, but I suppose some of that is to be expected. As almost all of the posts I read indicated, the Boise sound system is not what I have come to expect from Boise. I sure hope the car will hold it's value fairly well, but it in any case it is fun to drive and even looks good while parked!

"J"ust like all dogs go to heaven.......all Corvettes rattle.........but I will promise you one thing ........that after you have been driving Corvettes for 36years............you can't hear them any more................maybe it was the exhaust.......and Welcome:w :w :w

About the radio!! My BOSE system is fantastic. When I first got the car it was really anemic. Someone had replaced the power att. and was too lazy (read as STUPID) to run the att. lead to the radio amp/receiver. They cut the lead and then tried to twist it all together and make it work. I took it apart ( remember this is coax you will be dealing with) separted the outer fine wire and the innner solid wire and bought some plu in replacement ends ( male female coax connectors) at Radio Shack and put it back together. Blasted me out of the car. Of course I can't compete with the boom boxes I hear in the rice burners and pick up trucks the kids drive but then I won't be deaf by the time I'm 25 either. (actually I'm way past that age!) You might try looking at the att. and leads and especially the ground wire. Hope that helps and you find the problem as I think the BOSE system is a pretty good one overall.

Forgot to say welcome to the gang. Also if you have loud enough exhaust you won't hear the rattles!!!!!!!

Rattles

I rather expected some rattles, and most of the others I looked at probably had them too. I think the run flat tires are hard enough to contribute the some of the rattles.

Last night I drove it with the windows down, the radio off. After about 30 minutes I was asking myself "What rattles"? Guess you are right about that......

Congrats on the new 'Vette. Not that I'm biased or anything:D, but I think you made the right choice. It's a shame you didnt get a GS, but at least you did get the LT4.:)

Congrats on the new car and good choice of color. I don't have any rattles in mine and my Bose works great. I love this car and I'm sure you will too! Enjoy, Guy

Congrats on the wonderful auto! I'm insanely envious of you LT4 guys and hope to join the club one day!:D

1st - Congratulations on your Purchase :upthumbs

2nd - It's Bose not Boise . . .

3rd - It is a Grand Sport if you've got the LT4 under the Hood, put your beast up against a stock Blue/White GS and you'll stay right with it . . .

4th - Enjoy your Vette !!!

Bose/Boise

I know, I had some of the original 901s years ago. I sometimes get rather ham handed when I type. I also lived in Boise, Idaho for a while so perhaps my hands were just doing some wishful thinking. It was a great place, and would be a much better place to exercise a LT-4 than Virginia...

Thanks for the best wishes, I am still trying to accept the idea I really bought one after all these years. When I drove it off the lot it was the first time I had ever driven a Corvette. Guess I have waited about 41 years for that experience since I have wanted one since I was 16...

Congrats on the new car, you made a great choice.
After 18 years without a Corvette, I went looking for one. I had a 69 that had a little work, and loved the way it ran. After test driving a few C4's, I was disapointed with the performance of the cars until I got into a LT4 that was also worked just a little. I did not know much about LT4's, but I got on the internet and found out what great cars they are. I went right back and bought the car the next day. Good luck, and enjoy.:beer
