Hello All,

I'm thinking about selling my Polo Green 96 LT4. I have owned it about 18 months and am thinking about a Harley. I have about 36K on the odometer and the car is in mint condition inside and out. Only mod is a K&N air filter. What is this car worth?? Let me know what is a fair asking price.

Thanks,

Dale Hegg:cry :cry

I would guess about $17,000 if it's a coupe and the tires have some tread left.

if you wait till spring maybe 19,500. Its going to hurt you to sell it now unless your in a warm climate.

Go with what Mr.Smith says.

Wait till spring, you should be able to do a little better then.

I bought my 96 LT4 in December of ’98 during a blizzard (no kidding). The dealer wanted it out of their showroom, it was taking up space.

Typically, the market will be slow around the holidays regardless of what climatic area you are in. Feb and March is when the hunters are shopping for rides. My '79 will out there again, shined up and sounding bad.:Steer

Very true about the market cycles... This is the worst time of the year to sell, best to buy. I have seen LT4 collector edition cars with under 50k selling in the 15,000 range.... that is very low compared to only a few months ago... wait a month or two and sell then

Hey B17......whats this MR. SMITH stuff ???? You must know how old I am.:cry

Sorry about that Michael. :D

Keep in mind, with age comes wisdom!

Keep the Vette and by the Harley anyway :):) That's what I did, plead mid-life crisis with the wife, although I think I have pushed it as far as I can go!

:eyerole Ah,wisdom, I like that. Too bad its wasted on the old....:t

I paid 18 for mine with 50K miles in 5/03.

Yup, doesn't look that good every day, unfortunately.

Just Curious but if you drive it in the rain is it dirty the next day no matter what. It always seem that way with me. I have about 15 coats of wax on it too!

If it rains & the car just gets wet & dries off - no problem. But if you're driving in the rain, the dirt on the pavement mixes with the rain & gets deposited on the car no matter what. Then, of course, there's trying to avoid the puddles after the roads are mostly dry.

The joys of owning a black Vette.:)

I've had several silver vehicles & like that color, but even well detailed silver never has the visual impact of red & black. I can do a quicky wash on my black & it looks pretty darn good.

Try looking for your reflection on a silver car & then on a black one, know what I mean?

yea good point i do agree black always looks the best when its clean. I prefer it over any other color as far as looks go. All this cold weather has given me some downtime i dont have to wash it every week and wax every couple of weeks!

-Andy

Hope you get some warmer weather soon. :)
