Well, I'm transplantint a lt1 and a t56 in my 75 vette. the engine will be bored to a 355 and crank balanced, roller rockers, lt4 hot cam, and lightly ported heads. Hope to see 400 or more hp from this but dont know if that will happen. The vette will have sidemount pipes, with class pack inserts in them. Digital speedo, tack in the dash. My dad has a 75 that is all original, but I like a little more "radical" type setup. 308 gears should put me in the 170 or higher mph, with great mpg. I need all the advice I can get with this swap. Thanks

Best advice I could give is BUY A PAINLESS WIRING HARNESS!!!! This will save you a lot of time and money. If you aren't doing the install yourself, and the installer insists on going another route, take your car somewhere else! Sorry, just remembering old encounters.... Good luck with the swap, should be pretty awesome when done.

i agree on the painless wiring i used the factory wiring and it took me a bit of wiring diagrams and such to get it wired, thank god i do wiring and electrical work.

I was not so lucky. The guy that installed my engine hacked SOME harness (not even sure where he got it). He did such a terrible job that my car wouldn't run right! I had it in and out of a couple of shops trying to diagnose the problem before I had it up to the Vettewrench. I ended up having them yank the monstrosity that was the old harness. To top it off, the guy that originally did the install wouldn't give me a refund or even acknowledge that he messed up! That's okay, I still have his wiring harness. I am fashioning a noose-like tie that I plan to give him if I ever see him again... kidding of course! :blow

Just a warning. Painless has quality kits but make sure you check ALL the connecters and make sure they have all been clamped properly.

The reason for the warning is I bought a fan relay for my 79 for the dual electric fan setup and I have had to recrimp all the wire ends. They have all come loose and one point or another.

GL and let us know how it turns out!
