Was wondering....for the vettes 97 LT1 came with what for torque and horsepower? Also are these figures the same for the 97 30th Anniversary Camaro Z28? It is white with Orange Stripes....

thanks
Jeff

:confused

Jeff......oh Jeff.....97 Vettes did not come with LT1 or LT$. They came with LS1 engine. I'm going to assume the 96 since you are trying to compare to 30th Camaro. The Camaro also came with the LT4, but only about 100 were ordered. The horsepower is lower on the Camo LT1 as far as I remember. The vette is 300hp and 340torq. You should be able to easily find the 30th info on the internet.

Are you asking about a 96 or a 97?:bar

no no....don't get me wrong..hehe

you heard me right hehe

Yep I know the 97 vettes came with the LS1....I was trying to actually compare the vette (1997 vette) to a 97 30th anniversary camaro which my friend tells me was the last year for the LT1 engine? hmmmm iam not too sure on this one....you mentioned something bout only 100 of these made with the LT4? Iam gonna have to look at his motor...to see if this is one of those cars...or if its the LT1....either case...he is claiming its got more torque then both the LS1 engine and even my L-98....hmmm hmmmm....i dunno....L98 stock (1990) came with 345.

I gonna have to do some snoopin now....hehe

I will get back to ya....thanks for the help

jeff

hehehe..okay.
Yeah, check out www.LT4.com
They have some info on the F-body with LT4.
If he is claiming it has more, then it's not stock.
They also have some comparison on the site.

30th SLP Camaros were available with both the Lt1 and LT4.

Check here for the 30th info.

As As you can see teh LS1 has more torq and HP.
Your friend is smoking something funny is my best bet.:L

LT4 Camaro http://www.lt4.com/faq.htm#faq_6

Also is it just a Z28 or Z28 SS?
The SS has SLP mods done to it.

just some extra info. My 91 dyno'd at 316ft torq @3200 rpm. My LT4 dyno'd at 303ft torq @ around 4200 rpm. The L98 has slightly higher torq but the LT4 torq is flat across the entire rpm range and not spikey like the L98. Best run in my 91 was 13.8@ 97mph.
My LT4 has run 12.9@110mph. Both were completely stock during those runs. 60ft times were 1.9 for the L98 and 2.0 or 2.1 for the LT4.

A stock 97 LS1 Vette will beat a stock 97 LT1 Z28 assuming everything else is equal like driver skill and traction.

Yeah, well the LS1 Vette' does weigh a couple hundred pounds less. Plus, the LT1 F-bodies were "undertuned" in relation to their Corvette LT1 brothers. I think they were rated at 275HP as opposed to the 300HP on the Vette's.
