98 c5 electrical gremlins I recently encountered

A few weeks ago my gauge cluster (or Dic) started acting oddly it randomly goes from mph to kph, and back to mpg which causes the analog gauges to do the same. None of the push buttons now work at all. The fuel, temp, oil pressure gauges all work normally. Any thoughts on what would be causing this. The car has 24k miles on it since I bought it new in 98
