Ok Ive been lookin around the sight for a couple of days now and I dont really see much in the way of technichal debate about C5's. Im used to normally getting onto LS1 tech reading up on Camaro's and there is SO much discussion, everything from how many different options there are to replace the stock rear end to power adders and suspension and interior and so on. My question is is the vette that much better? I cant believe that it has nothing worth replacing on it but I dont see much discussion on that point. What, if any, are some of the shortcomings of the C5?

Don't worry my friend, there some hardcore modders on EVERY Vette site. Some have more modders online than others. There quite a few on this site, they just haven't chimed in yet:L

Unlike the Camaro, the Corvette is NOT a muscle car per se (IHMO its a pure sports car, there is a difference). What you choose to do to it is really contingent on what you are looking to do with the car. Most who post on Vette forums ARE the hardcore modders you are looking for. Guys like me (staying stock for the most part, just intake and exhaust have been changed on my Vette) don't post very much.

I participate in the discussions to expand my knowledgebase. Unless you frequently drag race or road race there really isn't much you SHOULD replace on a Corvette. I have learned from a lot of sources on this forum and others and from fellow Vette owners in my Unit (I am in the Army) that every mod performed on a Vette has a downside. You might like or accept that downside, but they are there (credit for that quote to c4c5 specialist:)).

My Vette is still under warranty (GMPP extended) and I have no desire to have more HP than I already have. If the mod bug ever does hit me, I'll pay the folks at Lingenfelter to make the upgrades so that I KNOW they are done right.

Like I said, just hang out awhile and you will have all the tech discussions you can stand:beer Welcome to the Site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want mods? Try the other forum - whole bunch of modaholics over there. Totally stock cars are almost frowned upon "over there". Totally adicted to the big brown truck bringing the greatest, latest, bolt-on.:rotfl
