We just returned from Monterey and had a FABULOUS time.

BUT...... While driving laps on the Laguna Seca Track the passenger side
"Seat Belt" release jammed and will not release. I had to obtain a couple
of seat belt extenders to have something to get home.

Is there a way to release the mechanism to let the Seat Belt out?

If not do you have a "Used, Black, Passenger side assembly" for sale. I am
not sure if Extended Warranty will cover Belts. I am trading the Car in
soon.

Hi there,
My theory here is that the belt folded over, causing the issue.
If you are very patient, you can pull it out, VERY SLOWLY.
You hit the stop, and then relax the belt slightly, and then, pull it out a little further. Do this, until all the belt is out all the way.
Then, you will need some seat belt guides, from the local dealership.
Your vehicle may be involved in the recall. 00034.
It is to install seat belt guides, to stop this condition.
Please consult your dealer for further information.

Seat Belt Problem

Thanks for your reply.

This is not the "Twist" problem. I had that back in `99 on the way to Sun Valley. I also had the TBS done.

This is the Mechanical part that will stop the Belt from releasing in a crash.

If its the belt and the retraction mechanism. Let me know..I think I have one sitting in the garage..I just have to go look.

Send me out a check freight plus a cup of coffee or a drink.. ;) or whatever you want.. if your interested and I'll ship it out to you.

I may have thrown it out but I proably have it..

I'll be back in a few to see if I still have it. (put airbag disconnect in and they changed out the belts at the time)

I just found the belt that was in my 1999 for about a month if that..Worked fine when it was in the car..as I said earlier I had the air bag disconnect installed in the car with NHSTA approval.

The air bag disconnect kit included a different seat belt so that was switch ed out.

FOr some reason and maybe C4C5 can tell us...the belts won't extend more than an inch..maybe its because its not on the car?

That I don't know..

If you want the seat belt after checking to see why they won't extend..send me an email with your address..I'll go over to mailbox etc and find out how much to ship to you.

Send me a check for the freight and your good to go..

Let me know if and when you want it.
