99 targa top layer peeling

I know this question has been addressed before but I can't remember the answer.
My 99's tinted top has started to peel. First it was a small space. Now it is 3 inches wide going from front to back on the passenger side.
What is the reason? Is there anything I can do to correct it? (besides buying a new top)

I had the same problem on my 2000 BGM Coupe, nothing I tried would help. I finally traded for a Millenium Yellow Convertible, problem solved!!

Seriously, I think the only fix is a new top.

My 2000 magnetic red coupe has the same area of damage on the targa top. I brought it to the dealers attention and was informed they could do nothing. They admitted it was a problem with many vettes. I am still looking for a solution and feel the same way as Green2000. I am not sure to sell because even newer vettes are having problems. I love the car. I am frustrated and would love advice. Thank you.
