A/C 134a conversions Blue-Tube

Based on your last description of the system operation , I have to agree with you. A restriction anywhere in the system would raise your high pressure and lower the low. Is your coolant level where it belongs? I have seen low coolant do strange things to the air conditioning.

Went ahead and got a new compressor, still in warranty so it was no cost...just work. The old one did send some metal into the orifice screen...

New compressor installed, everything blown out, evac for 2+ hrs, system charged. Blows cold at idle, with 3 cans (36oz 134a) and low pressure 45- lbs. Hard to get a good read on the pressures when ambient is 100+... New compressor rattles almost as much as the old bad one. But it pulls the low down and produces normal high pressure with rpm increase.

It works and thats ALL I care about. Damn compressor bracket broke an ear off and has to be replaced. Will baby it until replacement bracket is found. So I get to do this all again, soon.
What a PITA.

Of course thats a discontinued part....would'nt have broke if someone was making and selling the darn things..:chuckle
