Hello All. Can someone help me with finding out how to remove a AC Condensor on a 1987 Vette. I took it to my local AC dealer and they discovered the line going to the condensor is coming apart from the unit itself. They want $879 to repair it.
Please help Thanks.:confused :hb

Welcome To The Corvette Action Center 2Suns1!

I don't know why this has gone unanswered for so long. :confused

I can't think of each step to walk you through the radiator removal on your '87 currently. My books are with my car and it is many miles from me at this time. ;)

I can tell you that it requires removal of the air cleaner box, the top of the shroud surrounding the fan/radiator area, and the radiator and associated hoses/lines of course. It ain't hard, just time-consuming; that's why they charge so much for labor.

Removing the shroud and surrounding stuff is something you should do occasionally anyhow. The time between cleanings depends a lot upon where you live and drive, but that area does collect a lot of debris and hinders the cooling system performance dramatically.

I suggest getting a Helm's manual for your specific model year vehicle. Helm's is much better than the Hayne's or Chilton's books. ;)

Good luck. If I think of anything else I'll post it for you. :upthumbs

Thank you Sir. I found what I needed and will get started on this weekend.......:cool
